The New Ideas in Computational Neuroscience program was established to promote computational approaches to the study of neural information processing, cognitive neuroscience and neurodynamics. One of the central goals of the program is to develop and encourage collaborations between the computational neuroscience researchers of the IEC and international partners as well as to promote exposure of the IEC trainees to cutting edge research and improve the visibility of the IEC computational neuroscience community. In order to achieve its goals the program is situated in the GNT. The program has three activity tracks: the GNT seminar series in theoretical neuroscience, the NICNeuro visitorship program and NICNeuro focused workshops in computational neuroscience.
