Biography

Nikos Gekas was born in Larissa (Greece) and was trained in Informatics (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece). He then obtained a Masters in Machine Learning and Data Mining (University of Bristol, UK), and a Masters and PhD in Neuroinformatics (University of Edinburgh, UK). He joined the Laboratoire des Systèmes Perceptifs in 2015 after the completion of his PhD. His research has been focused on understanding the mechanisms of motion perception and, in particular, speed perception, and on investigating how the history of what we have perceived at different times in the past affects our perception now.
