New Ideas in Neuropsychology

Workshop - The Role Of The Basal Ganglia In The Interaction Between Language And Other Cognitive Functions

Practical information
12 October 2017
4pm - 7pm
NPI

Topic
Although increasing evidence points to the need to include subcortical structures to the brain network recruited during language processing, the specific role of these structures is not clear. The aim of this workshop is twofold:
(i) To foster the discussion between researchers working on the implication of subcortical structures in language from very different perspectives (i.e. the role of these structures in healthy individuals, the effects of subcortical damage on language processing, the neural correlates of language processing).

(ii) To evaluate the role of these structures in the interaction between language-specific (grammatical) processes and other cognitive processes recruited during language processing.

Organizers: Anne-Catherine Bachoud-Lévi, Maria Giavazzi, Charlotte Jacquemot, lab NeuroPsychologie Interventionnelle.
