Agency, confidence and adaptive decision making

When we make decisions, we experience a subjective sense of agency over the resulting actions and a subjective feeling of confidence about whether our choice of action is the right one. I will present experiments investigating the role of these evaluations in adaptive behaviour: how they influence which decisions we make, when we seek advice, and when we pay attention to feedback in the learning process.
