PhD thesis project: Emotions, Value, Justification. The prospects of a reliabilist framework

I am a PhD student at Institut Jean-Nicod, École Normale Supérieure, École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales. My research is supervised by Jérôme Dokic and it is funded by École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales.

My main interests lie at the intersection of philosophy of emotions, philosophy of mind and epistemology. I hold a master’s degree at EHESS in philosophy. I am also a graduate of ESPCI Paris with a focus on neurosciences.

My PhD project is about the epistemological role of emotions in the justification of evaluative beliefs. I’m focusing on assessing the prospects of a reliabilist framework, as well as that of epistemic perceptualism, the thesis that the epistemic role of emotions would be analogous to that of perceptions.

I’m also interested in metaethical questions about the nature of emotional normativity.
