A better understanding of the Covid 19 crisis: the contribution of behavioural sciences

The Direction Interministérielle pour la Transformation Publique organised on April 6, 2020 a free virtual event for people involved in the management of the epidemic, which brought together more than 800 participants!

What are the main principles to follow when communicating with the public? How can we foster cooperation from all sides? How is trust built? Why does it take more energy to get recommendations accepted than it does to combat "fake news"?

Coralie Chevallier, researcher in behavioural and cognitive science, Nicolas Baumard, researcher in moral psychology and Hugo Mercier, researcher in the psychology of reasoning and argumentation, all three members of the Evolution and Social Cognition team, were present alongside Mariam Chammat, doctor in cognitive science and project leader in behavioural sciences at the Direction Interministérielle pour la Transformation Publique and Stephan Giraud, head of the behavioural sciences programme at the Direction Interministérielle pour la Transformation Publique.

This workshop aimed to share as widely as possible the contribution of behavioural sciences in order to fully understand the stakes of the covid-19 crisis.
