Women in Science

During the Fête de la Science, the ENS celebrates Women in Science through an exhibition of twelve portraits of talented and inspiring scientists. Computer scientists, physicists, chemists, mathematicians, geoscientists, cognitive scientists and biologists: they have advanced science and still inspire generations of researchers.

"An exhibition that recalls the place of women in scientific history. Women who have too often remained invisible, women who are still the minority in scientific research. To further research to the highest level, it is essential to harness all talents: we need women! As long as our scientific community remains non-gender-balanced, we will be depriving ourselves of some of the bright people that research needs."
Anne Christophe, Deputy Director of Science at the ENS

The work of Sue Corkin and Utah Frith has greatly contributed to the advancement of cognitive science. These portraits can be seen in the hall located at 24 rue Lhomond.

An exhibition designed by Marie Lods of the Institut Jean Nicod (DEC, ENS).
