The IJN is composed of 13 teams:

Research at the DEC uses the concepts, methods and techniques from a wide variety of disciplines: analytical philosophy, theoretical and experimental linguistics, anthropology, cognitive psychology, neuropsychology, neuro-economics, cognitive neuroscience, integrative neuroscience, and computational neuroscience.

The Département d’Études Cognitives recruits "normaliens" who will prepare the ENS diploma in all the specialties related to cognitive science. We mainly welcome applications from psychology, linguistics, biology, mathematics, computer science, physics, philosophy and social sciences. We recruit students from universities as well as from preparatory classes, scientific, economic and commercial, and literary.

BASEMENT

Training and research at DEC focus on mental abilities such as perception, attention, decision making, consciousness, reasoning, language, emotions, action, and social skills. Linking these abilities to their underlying psychological mechanisms and their genetic and neuronal bases is the goal of cognitive science.

Abstract:

Pitch perception is important not only for the enjoyment of music and for the perception of prosody in speech, but also for our ability to process one sound, such as a voice, in the presence of competing sounds.
